For Telefónica Black it has been a very busy day today, and it has not ended yet. The guys are inside the bow of the ‘Demonio’, still repairing a ripped J2, so imagine the difficulties on such a bumpy road! Apart from that, they have been dealing with continuous wind changes in direction and speed, so the work on deck has been extenuating. Telefonica Black has lost the lead, but the final approach to the waypoint next to Manila promises to be really tight for the leading pack. Green Dragon on the other hand, loses forestay but saved its mast. Ian Walker and his crew were in fourth place and sailing in 17 knots of breeze upwind and a short, choppy sea, when the boat suffered a broken forestay, a crucial part of the rigging, which helps keep the mast in position.
